Summer cocktail pick: Death & Co.'s the Head Spin, made with Tequila Cabeza Blanco, Santa Teresa Rhum Orange, House-made Kumquat Cordial, fresh orange juice, fresh lime juice, and vanilla syrup ($14). The kumquats are the secret ingredient: these mini-oranges are super sour but delightfully tasty and really add that je-ne-sais-quoi element.

Snack Dragon is the answer to your drunken prayers, serving up late-night cheesy, spicy eats that won't make you miserable the morning after. Fresh, herb-packed tacos are served on homemade blue corn tortillas and are worth waiting for, along with the perpetually happy throng of bar hoppers craving chipotle-citrus marinated Carne Asada ($5) or Grilled Sole ($4).

This East Village restaurant is hosting a crab boil every Tuesday night through the end of August. $58 buys you a seat in the garden for a healthy serving of crabs (10-11!) seasoned in a special blend, string beans, boiled new potatoes, corn on the cob, and cornbread.Tickets are available up to six days in advance.

Oaxaca tacos have a way of always hitting the spot. All tacos come topped with your choice of meat, pickled red onions, cotija cheese, salsa, cilantro, avacado, and lime ($3.25, $9.95 for any 3 plus rice and beans). We highly recommend the Especiale. This sleek and modern bar is an ideal date spot where you’ll you’re your favorite Arcade Fire songs while sipping classic cocktails like the Perfect Rob Roy (Deward, Vermouth, Peychard Bitters, $12). Tucked away on the first floor of a quaint Gramercy townhouse is one of the best coffee shops in NYC: 71 Irving. They serve delicious brew from Irving Farms in addition to tasty treats like muffins, bagels, sandwiches, and more (their tuna sandwich on whole grain bread is a must try!). They have about 20 seats inside and a few seats outside.

The East Village's former El Cobre space is now a gilded bar featuring pub fare and gin & tonics--on tap! Made with Bittermans Commonwealth liqueur and grapefruit bitters, G+T's are a mere $7. The rest of the cocktail menu (Pimm's Cups, Martinis, and Old Maids, pictured) is under $10 too.

This new authentic Italian pizzeria in the East Village has three kinds of pizza ovens, and cooks three types of pies: Pizza Italiana Classica piesare cooked in a wood-fired oven, and boast an extra crispy crust; Napoletana is your traditional Neapolitan pizza; andPizza in Pala is made with double-cooked dough, giving it a similar texture to ciabatta bread. Many ingredients are imported from Italy (flour, yeast), and the rest they source at the local Greenmarket in Union Square. Bonus: they have a pizza school! [menu]

This homey new East Village bar/restaurant boasts a selection of killer cocktails. The Bedford Cruise (Vodka, fresh watermelon juice, lemon juice, agave, soda) is a our fave. How about a kale juice cocktail augmented with Milagro silver tequila, lime juice, and ginger, known as the Garden Variety Margarita? While this lawn-tasting libation doesn't do it for us, you can't deny that green juice is having a serious moment in NYC.

The East Village's former Belcourt space is now home to Franco-farmhouse fare. Raw oysters, hot-and-sour braised lamb with fresh ricotta dumplings, and spicy marinated mackerel (pictured) are just a few features in the casual bistro space, which recently added brunch to the menu.
