Opening Ceremony is Barney's to a new generation of fashion-fluent shoppers. The Soho store features the OC label as well as stalwarts like Alexander Wang, Band of Outsiders and collaborations with Chloe Sevigny and Jeremy Scott. The merch is always changing because owners Carol Lim and Humberto Leon travel the world and settle in one country for a few months to buy collections from that country's most interesting designers. Most of the wares are cutting-edge, but they wisely stock more accessible lines, such as their joint with TopShop, London's high street retail giant, Stetson hats, Tretorn sneakers and Red Wing shoes. Books, souvenirs, shoes, bags, co-branded Stetson hats, and collaborations with film geniuses Wong Kar Wai and Spike Jonze make this a one of a kind shopping adventure. They recently opened a new travel branch in the lobby of the Ace Hotel that features great PJ's, 3 oz. bottles of cosmetics (for sailing through security) and those much coveted patent leather Repetto shoes, the ones based on ballet slippers that every It Girl loves.
